Before moving here, I didn't know how dreary Northwestern Europe can be.

From roughly October to May it doesn't get so cold or snowy but it's also not particularly sunny. And that's not because we're too far north to have lots of daylight; it's just the rain and clouds! Check this out:

Anyway, that's all to say that after five years here, I've learned I'm about to be inside A LOT for the next six months, so I'm getting ahead of the curve and starting something that's been on my todo list for a while - blogging.

I wanted somewhere to write romantic homages to my years in the EU, as well as talk about EV batteries science (what I studied and worked in for many years) and tech (Devops/Neural Nets - what I do now), as well as about our frequent trips to Kazakhstan to visit my partner's family and i don't know...a lot more.

I also wanted to write about how much I adore Brussels, my first home outside the US. Mainly I think I'll write about it because I'm boring everyone around me constantly raving about it. So more on that later..
